Green Stem Syndrome - Risk Assessment
The causes of green stem syndrome are not yet know. The following factors have been frequently associated with green stem:
- low soil moisture
- delayed planting
- virus infections, although not all green stem plants test positive for viruses
- soybean varieties differ in the incidence of green stem
- low plant populations - this can be associated with greater insect pressure, which may serve as vectors of virus.
